JSC ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’ is going to increase tariffs for freight transportation by unifying them

Joint Stock Company ‘’Ukrainian Railways‘’ (‘Ukrzaliznytsia’) has submitted proposals to the relevant ministry to unify tariffs for freight transportation and proposed a new version of the Collection of tariffs for the transportation of goods by rail within Ukraine.

This was announced by V.A. Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Transportation Technology and Commercial Work Department of JSC ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’, on the air of the TV programme ‘Live Studio’ of the Odesa regional ‘Channel 7’ on 8 August 2024.

These initiatives should simplify the calculation of transportation costs by reducing the number of coefficients applied to the tariffs of the Tariff Manual for the carriage of goods by rail within Ukraine and related services, as well as eliminate the large disproportion between the cost of transportation of different types of cargo.

According to Tkachev, Ukrzaliznytsia is waiting for the decision of the relevant ministry, after which these initiatives will be put up for public discussion within a month.

It is already known that the unification of tariffs will have the greatest impact on the cost of transportation of construction materials (including crushed stone products), with a slight correlation in the transportation of coal and ore.
