Although these concepts are often confused, they have different legal grounds and different implications for remuneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under Article 56 of the Labour Code of Ukraine, a part-time working day or part-time working week may be established by mutual agreement between the employee and the employer, either at the time of hiring or during the course of employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under such arrangements, employees work fewer hours than the standard full-time schedule, and their remuneration is calculated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; in proportion to the actual hours worked; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; according to the amount of work performed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pursuant to Article 51 of the Labour Code of Ukraine, reduced working hours apply, in particular, to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; employees aged 16 to 18;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; employees engaged in hazardous working conditions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; other categories of employees specified by law.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more detailed information, see the Judicial and Legal Newspaper (News section, publication of 21 July 2026) or the relevant online publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Association&#8217;s note.
